Merry Christmas!
It's been a very unusual year, and things won't be quite the same. But that is why Christmas is such good news. It was never just about the tinsel and decorations and food. (Although that stuff is great!) Christmas has always been about light conquering the darkness.
Over 2000 years ago, in a nowhere-town, to no-one parents, at a time of no great significance, a little peasant boy was born. To anyone looking, there was nothing of significance about this child - and yet this little peasant boy literally changed the world. We even mark our time according to his birth! We have to ask ourselves... why?! Why did this boy change the world? Why did he make such a difference? Why did he influence culture and politics? Why do we still remember him today? Was he just a peasant boy? Or maybe, just maybe, there was something more about him, after all. Maybe he changed the world because he was the One who made it in the first place... |
